Pathology Laboratory
The Pathology Laboratory of Hospital Lam Wah Ee has been providing essential laboratory testing services since it was first set up in 1983. Our laboratory offers a comprehensive range of laboratory testing in Clinical Biochemistry, Blood Transfusion Services, Clinical Haematology, Coagulation studies, Cytopathology, Histopathology, Clinical Microbiology, Immunology, Molecular biology and Urinalysis. Beside analysis, the laboratory also monitors and intervenes hospital infection control programs by providing the necessary feedbacks to the various disciplines.

Provision of Biosafety Level 2, Laboratory services in the following areas:
- Clinical Biochemistry usually receives serum, which is tested for different compounds.
- Blood bank and blood transfusion services.
- Receives whole blood for full blood counts and blood films.
- Coagulation studies for clotting investigation
- Cytopathology examines smears of cells for evidence of cancer and other conditions
- Histopathology processes solid tissue removed from the body to make slides and examine cellular details
- Clinical Microbiology receives swab, feces, urine, blood, sputum, medical equipment as well as possible infected tissue which are cultured to check for pathogenic microbes
- Immunology tests for antibodies
- Urinalysis
- Molecular biology started with test like H1N1 PCR and MTB PCR. Both tests provided better turnaround time to help the clinician for diagnosis.
The laboratory also provides services to other private hospitals and research institutions.
