Pain Management Service

Hospital Lam Wah Ee provides Acute Pain Service for post-operative patients as well as Chronic Pain Service for patients with chronic and cancer pain. The unit is headed by an Anaesthetist with expertise in acute and chronic pain management and is assisted by a team of trained nurses.

Integrative Pain Clinic (Chronic Pain Service)

The Integrative Pain Clinic functions to provide holistic multidisciplinary approach in chronic pain management.

Acute Pain Service (APS)

The Acute Pain Service is coordinated by the Anaesthetic department which is committed to provide safe optimal pain control to post operative patients.

Post Operative Pain Management Modalities:

• Patient Controlled Analgesia (PCA)
• Epidural Analgesia
• Intravenous Analgesia
• Oral Multimodal Analgesia

Service

Daily clinical inpatient rounds are conducted to support clinical staff, assess and evaluate the effectiveness of post-operative pain management for patients who are receiving epidural analgesia, patient controlled analgesia and infusion analgesia.
