The Accident & Emergency at Hospital Lam Wah Ee institutes diagnostic, curative, essential life saving measures and emergency procedures that are safe, appropriate, effective, efficient and adequate in order to minimize or prevent further complications of ill or injured patients. The activities include the provision of diagnostics and curative services for accident and emergency cases on 24 hours basis as well as respond to ambulance calls.

Doctors and a team of trained nurses are available 24 hours to provide emergency management. The emergency level is treated according to the TRIAGE categories identified as shown below:

| Respondent: | Immediate |
| Description: | Patients' lives will be put at risk if treatments are delayed. Some examples of illnesses are Cardiac Arrest, Heart Attack and Open Fracture. |
Semi Emergency Cases

| Respondent: | Up to 30 minutes |
| Description: | Conditions that require urgent attention but a short delay will not theaten patients' lives for example Child High Fever, Closed Fracture and Minor Motor Vehicle Accident Injuries |

| Respondent: | Up to 90 minutes |
| Description: | For cases such that prolonged waiting time will not cause deterioration in the patients' conditions for example Minor Injury, Vomiting and Cough or Flu |
