Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU)

Baby Care Unit and Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) provide general and specialized neonatal care to new-borns up to 28 days of life. The Unit manages both the well and abnormality detected new-borns, which include term and premature babies with medical and surgical problems.

• Provides 24 hours service
• Provision of services and facilities for maternal and fetal monitoring for safe delivery by:
  • Caring and assisting the mother during labour and to monitor the maternal and fetal well-being by clinical and technical means
  • Carrying out treatment correctly as prescribed by doctor
• Provision of healthcare education to patients
• Provision of husband-friendly environment in Delivery Suite
• Provision of initial breastfeeding for babies in Delivery Suite and Operating Theatre Suite to promote bonding
• Provision of combined care to enhance the quality of maternal and fetal health
